The Skirmish AI has undergone drastic overhauls in the way it plays and how it handles. First and foremost, the AI attacks faster and harder than it used to so no longer does it sit on its hands, doing nothing for a long time before launching its first attack. The AI also launches attacks in more rapid succession instead of holding a long delay again. Even the Easy AI launches attacks faster and presses harder. Secondly, the AI uses new modification units, including the heavy country specials. So it is not uncommon to see the American AI launching attacks with Abrams Tanks in them. Thirdly, the AI has had many new attacks added to existing ones so there will be more variance in the AI's attack patterns, except when it sees success with particular groups. The AI even launches attacks consisting of transport helicopters.
